However it doesnt work on my Cyrix MediaGX machine (Cyrix 586 compatible), the main difference with which is it has a OHCI USB chipset rather than the normal uhci. I am using kernel 2.4.4 on both machines, and the cpia driver from there. Basically it is fine until the VIDIOCMCAPTURE ioctl is called; this never returns unless interrupted and the log says cpia.c:parse_picture(1947):EOL not found giving up after 1478/106724 butes Any idea what mught be going on and what to do? Detection and so on goes on fine. But when the driver tries to fetch a frame from the camera, it waits for the incomming USB stream forever, actually until signaled. See the attachment (3kB): logs with debugging switched on in the driver. The camera works fine on Win98 with drivers from constructor. Does anybody know why the device won't reply? Im not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but Im getting these errors on my SmartCam cpia camera with both the 0.7 and 1.1 drivers.. It works fine generally, however when I run the gqcam program,I get errors every few minutes or so like this: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1012 usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 1013 *_comp parameters have gone AWOL (248/190/36/199) - reseting them usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 552 usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 553 *_comp parameters have gone AWOL (248/190/36/199) - reseting them the frame numbers are always different, and sequential, but the _comp values are always the same. Is this likely to be a problem with the cpia driver or the usb driver? Is this a known bug and/or already patched? Hope this helps, Franz Reinhardt From jhatala@usa.net 7 May 2001 00:52:07 MDT Date: 7 May 2001 00:52:07 MDT From: jhatala@usa.net jhatala@usa.net Subject: [cpia] Re: [Aiptek HyperVcam Fun recognised but frame-capture fails] Hi. Well, I don't think so. ov511 does not detect anything, and cpia_usb sees the chip correctly. On http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/cameras.html they write about HyperVcam Home and -Mobile, not Fun that I have. This one should actually have a cpia inside as per http://webcam.sourceforge.net/#cams Thank you though, Jozef Hatala fre@wenglor.de wrote: > AFAIK, Aiptek HyperVcam Fun has an Omnivision chipset inside (at least > the other Aiptek Hyper Vcam 's have this) and therefore you have to > use the ov511-driver instead of the cpia driver. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 From marco.goerlach@freenet.de Sat, 12 May 2001 14:40:43 +0200 Date: Sat, 12 May 2001 14:40:43 +0200 From: root marco.goerlach@freenet.de Subject: [cpia] Vesta Pro Scan Webcam 690K Hello, I need a Vesta Pro Scan 690K USB driver for Linux Mandrake 8.0.
