WORKLOAD CHARACTERIZATION IN HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS
   ====================================================================

               Sixth International Symposium on Modeling,
Analysis and Simulation of Computer and
                Telecommunication Systems (MASCOTS '98)

                           July 19-24, 1998
               Complex Dejardins Hotel, Montreal, Canada

Short Description
-----------------

A critical factor in the design and development of high-performance
computing architectures and applications is to understand and to
characterize the requirements of computing and network resources. The
objective of this workshop is to discuss recent trends, approaches and
results in workload characterization for high-performance computing systems.
In particular, the following topics will be addressed:

+ workload models for parallel and distributed systems
     + high-speed network traffic characterization
     + characterization of multimedia traffic
+ Internet / WWW traffic characterization
+ traffic characteristics of networked applications
          (e.g. CSCW, distributed virtual environments)
+ user behavior characterization in networked environments
+ relation between workload and QoS

If you are interested in submitting a paper, send an extended abstract
