                  WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

The Department of Computer Science at Western Michigan University seeks 
applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions in computer 
science beginning Fall 1999, pending budgetary approval. A Ph.D. in 
computer science or a closely related field is required. The development of 
externally funded research and participation in the department's doctoral 
program, as well as teaching at all levels, are expected. Applications 
from persons with research interests in all areas of computer science will 
be considered. For one of the positions applicants with an interest in 
Databases and/or Multimedia are especially invited, but applicants from 
all areas will be considered. Western Michigan University, a Carnegie 
Classification Doctoral I institution and equal opportunity employer,
