Technical Session/Workshop on

   Tools and Environments for Parallel and Distributed Programming

at the

   2001 International Conference on Computational Science (ICCS 2001),

   San Francisco, CA, May 28-31, 2001.

   http://www.gup.uni-linz.ac.at/iccs

The use of supercomputing architectures, like massively parallel processors
and distributed systems, for computational science and engineering requires
dedicated support from program analysis tools and integrated environments.
Especially two issues must be addressed: On the one hand, current efforts in
coupling parallel machines into clusters and computational grids reveal
novel
problems associated with scalability and the amount of analysis data being
processed. On the other hand, the increased availability of parallel and
distributed architectures for more scientific users requires corresponding
software support with improved user interfaces. Focusing on these issues,
paper submissions concerning the following topics of interest are invited
and expected:

   * Tools for testing and debugging
   * Performance analysis tools
   * Data (re-)partitioning and load-balancing tools
   * Integrated program development tools
   * On-line monitoring and computational steering tools
   * Domain-specific analysis tools
   * Visualization tools
   * and related topics ...

Paper Submission

We invite you to submit a:

   * full paper of 6 to 10 pages (Letter or A4 paper) for oral presentation
   * short paper of 2 to 4 pages (Letter or A4 paper) for poster
presentation

The submitted paper must be camera-ready and formatted according to the
rules
of LNCS (Springer Verlag). Please follow the ICCS 2001 guidelines for
more information on submission. Submission implies the willingness of at
least one of the authors to register and present the paper.

Please include a cover page which lists the following:

   * name, affiliation, address and e-mail address of each author
   * name of the presenting author; name of the contact author
   * a maximum of 5 keywords
   * 3 nominated referees and contact information of all nominated referees.

A PostScript or PDF version of your paper must be submitted
electronically to iccs2001@gup.uni-linz.ac.at. Hard copies
should be sent only if electronic submission is not possible.

Proceedings

The proceedings of the Conference are expected to be published in the
Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
