Job description:

Participation in the Austrian research project AURORA. The applicant
should have good knowledge in optimization and linear algebra,
programming
in FORTRAN 90, C and/or Java.

Parallel algorithms for large scale linear and convex optimization on
clusters of PC's under LINUX are implemented. Existing
software, like an interior point solver and a nested Benders solver
should
be extended and tested. Besides, also some algorithms for data handling
and -management will be considered. The application lies in multiperiod
financial optimization, like portfolio management or asst/liability
management. Some interest in these fields is also expected.

The salary is ATS 334.500.- per annum before taxes. Should the applicant

alraedy have a doctoral degree (or obtain it during his time of work),
the
salary raises to ATS 554.000.- per annum.

The project finances also travels to conferences and workshops.
