Abstract:
The first part of this talk presents a motivation and issues
concerning the development and adaptation of on-line tools to the OCM,
an OMIS Compliant Monitoring system.
It covers the structure of an OCM-based tool
environment and enhancements needed both at low-level parts of the
monitoring environment and at the user interface level in order to
achieve full tool support for parallel applications [1].
Next, it discusses a general-purpose, portable, and extensible
approach to handle comprehensive monitoring information from a Java
run-time environment, based on OMIS [2].
Finally, a concept of a tool environment for monitoring of
applications on the Grid is presented. An architecture for a monitoring
system is proposed and communication protocol between parts of the
monitoring environment is discussed with focus on performance
issues concerning the gathering of monitoring data and scalability of
the monitoring system [3].
