                  SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
The International Information Technology Symposium (I2TS'2002)
will take place at Barddal University (from Tuesday to Friday)
and at BeiraMar ShoppingCenter (on Saturday).

I2TS'2002 serves as a forum for people from academia,
industry and research labs, for presenting recent research results
in Information Technology Applications.
I2TS'2002 will include Technical Sessions, Tool Sessions,
Panels, Tutorials and MiniCourses.
The proceedings will be published in CD-ROM.

                   SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Authors are encouraged to submit both theoretical and practical results of
significance. Demonstration of new tools/applications is very desirable.

The scope of the symposium includes, but is not limited to:
-          Information Technology
-          Distributed Information Technology
-          Retrieval Information Technology
-          BioInformatic Technology
-          Biological Inspired Techniques
-          Software Agent Technology and its applications
-          Wireless and Mobile Networking and Computing
-          Real-Time and Multimedia Systems
-          Security and Privacy
-          Web-Based Systems and their applications
-          Broadband and Telecommunication Networks and Software
-          Parallel and Distributed Systems
-          Formal Methods and Validation Techniques
-          Applications and Case Studies

Authors of both regular and tool papers are strongly encouraged to submit
their papers in electronic form (PDF, PostScript or MicrosoftWord).
Papers should be written in English or Portuguese and should
not exceed 8 pages (IEEE format, details at www.barddal.br).
Each submission, must be sent to m.notare@computer.org
and accompanied by the following information: a short abstract,
a complete list of authors and their affiliations,
a contact person for correspondence, postal and e-mail addresses.

                         TOOLS SESSION
Authors are encouraged to submit papers describing tools suitable
for on-line demonstration. The tools papers will undergo a regular
review process and will be published in the conference proceedings
in a dedicated tools session. Standard microcomputers will be available.
The authors are required to bring any additional equipment.

         CALL FOR TUTORIALS AND MINI-COURSES
Proposals for half-day or full-day Tutorials or MiniCourses
are solicited on timely topics related to the above areas.
The proposal must include description and biographies.
