[cpia] can't change the picture size and colors

Hi,
i use the terratec terracam usb with kernel 2.4.2 
gqcam is version 0.9.
xawtv is 3.3

if i change the picture size to half or quarter  or i change the
color-parameters in gqcam or freewebfone (that uses gqcam-sources) comes
this message: 
	ioctl (VIDIOCSWIN): Invalid argument
	ioctl (VIDIOCSPICT): Invalid argument

what's the problem? i want to use videotelephony (over ip). for this i need
little pictures.
