I have tested an ancient version with SMP. And AFAIR several people
were using the driver on SMP-machines. Also I can see not much reasons
why it should not work anymore (the driver is single threaded and does
not need much locking). So I adapt my answer to the richness and
completness of your error report and state hereby 'I do not know what
your problem is'.
