[cpia] IntelPlay QX3 problems

Okay, so is this a kernel thing, or some problem with cpia-control and/or
one of it's components (such as the newer versions of pygtk)?

I.e., can you (or anyone) control the QX3's lamps by reproducing the
sequences cpi-control is supposed to send to /proc/cpia/video0 manually?

I'd be more than happy to hack together my own custom little GUI for use
in our labs if I can just get these lamps to work on my own. Problem is, I
know very little about cpia, this device, or what is needed to make it all
work.
