Subject: problem with ezonics ezcam (not pro or plus)

I have an ezonics that im trying to get to work. It was previously working
on my workstation (running mandrake 9.0). I gave it to a friend.. Hes
running Mandrake 9.1..
[root@localhost cpia-1.3.0]# uname -a
Linux localhost 2.4.21-0.13mdksecure #1 SMP Fri Mar 14 14:10:36 EST 2003
i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux

I installed the cpia-1.3.0
module and remade my kernel modules..

when I do a modprobe cpia_usb
it gives no errors and I end up with
[root@localhost cpia-1.3.0]# !lsmod
lsmod | grep -i cpia
cpia_usb 5924 0 (autoclean) (unused)
cpia 52408 0 [cpia_usb]
videodev 8128 0 [cpia]
usbcore 76608 1 [cpia_usb usb-uhci]
[root@localhost cpia-1.3.0]#

but nothing shows up in proc:
[root@localhost cpia-1.3.0]# ls /proc/cpia/
[root@localhost cpia-1.3.0]#

dmesg shows
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:0c.0
Linux video capture interface: v1.00
V4L-Driver for Vision CPiA based cameras v0.8.1
usb.c: registered new driver cpia

and when I try to run camserv, it cant find the camera
