There can be many reasons, have a look at /var/log/messages. There are a
couple of known problems, and I am not sure whether anyone has seen the
camera working in a stable fashion. Please note that much discussion
about the subject is on linux-usb@suse.com. There also is an archive of
this mailing list somewhere on www.suse.com
