THIS is the first line in dmesg (after the lines telling that loading 
modules is ok)

after starting gqcam there is only one line displayed in term :
Segmentation fault.
no further output.

btw, making a depmod -a says :
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/ppp_deflate.o
could it be that my parport is not properly loaded ? and that may cause the
problems ?
