[cpia] Creative WebCam II on Debian woody

I was successfully using this camera on my machine
when it was running RedHat 6.1.

Now that I switched to Debian Woody and I'm having difficulties.

Kernel: custom-built 2.2.16
CPiA driver: cpia-1.1
Camera: Creative WebCam II Parallel version

When I load cpia module, the machine freezes solid and has to be reset.
No error message I could retrieve.

Any idea?
